My name is Leslie McNabb, and I am a yogi, teacher, librarian, and Human Resources professional. As a yogi I specialize in Yin, Children’s, Family, Chair, and Prenatal Yoga. My philosophy is that yoga is for all bodies and all ages and stages.
Yin Yoga: Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Typically, we remain in the postures between three and five minutes.
Children’s Yoga: a modified version of traditional yoga practice specifically designed for children, focusing on fostering physical, mental, and emotional development through age-appropriate poses, stretches, breathing exercises, and calming techniques. This child-friendly yoga approach incorporates elements of play, storytelling, and interactive activities to engage and maintain the interest of young participants. For ages 3-5 I will incorporate picture books, for ages 6-12 I will use storytelling.
Family Yoga: a yoga class for children and their grown up(s) and is open to whatever your family looks like. Your family may include moms, dads, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, grandparents, family friends, etc. Family yoga for a time for play and connection and includes a wide range of ages and abilities.
Chair Yoga: a form of traditional hatha yoga that uses a chair as a prop. It makes traditional yoga poses more accessible by practicing them either seated on a chair or using a chair for support while standing. It incorporates the fundamental elements of a traditional yoga practice—breathwork, physical postures, and mindfulness—while eliminating the need to get up and down from the floor.
Prenatal Yoga: a practice uniquely designed for pregnancy that can help support expecting mothers emotionally and physically. With an emphasis on breathing, stamina, pelvic floor work, restorative poses, and core strength, prenatal yoga can help you become more resilient during and after pregnancy.
